Frank Zappa continued to release recordings of Jimmy long after he broke up the original Mothers of Invention. Other than through the partial settlement reached in 1995, Jimmy never received or receives any royalties from Frank Zappa’s opus. Though the terms of the settlement have not been made public, it is clear from what Jimmy says that the Mothers involved signed away any further rights they had on the recordings they made with Zappa. The settlement was partial because it was limited to the period 1983-1995.
So the FZ & the MOI list here is only a partial one. It lists only those recordings, from the period 1966-81, when Jimmy worked in collaboration with Frank Zappa. (In 1981, Zappa took exception to a stage routine the Grandmothers were doing. This is when Zappa seems also to have dropped out of Jimmy’s life, other than for the court case & settlement.)
